LIKED:
-
I liked how the author started by "Observe how healthily-how calmly I can tell you the whole story" because it gives you a small introduction before telling the whole adventure which makes you have a higher comprehension of the novel.
-
The repetitions Edgar wrote in the expressions of the main character like "It moved slowly-very, very slowly" or "cautiously-oh, so cautiously-cautiosly" makes you really visualize the personality of the killer.
-
"He not even to dream of my secret deeds or thoughts". I think this phrase is so hilarious because he believes he`s such a professional in his actions and I love how the protagonist is so sure he is doing the right thing.
-
The only reason why I did´t rate this short story 5 stars is because I think the ending could be a little bit more interesting. He was just about to get away with the murder until he had a panic attack and mentions "They heard!-they suspected!-they knew!-they were making a mockery of my horror!"
